Although we are NOT a nursing home for dogs, dogs who are being treated for chronic health problems, such as arthritis or allergies, can stay with us.  These pets are identified as "Special Care" and are given a level of care that includes observation for deviations from their norm potentially related to their disease process or mediction they may be taking.  Dogs who are taking medications, have limits on their activity, have accidents inside, require feeding supervision, or reqire special accomodations for elimination are guests who will be identified as "Special Care" and charged at that rate rather than the Basic Rate.

Dogs with incipient or undiagnosed illness, infection or signs of a changing health status are not candidates for boarding because they could compromise the health of other pet guests. If something is going on in the health of your dog, please talk to us to make sure we can accomodate your dogs' needs. 

We love puppies and we have lots of experience raising and training puppies so we have designed a Special Care Suite available for puppies under 6 months of age. This is a separate area so they are not exposed to the big dogs. It has its own TV, music, two windows and a dutch door and is arranged to allow us to give the puppy special attention without disrupting all of the other guests. After all, puppies need play and snuggling almost constantly, right? Our design lets the puppy have his crate (please, no metal crates because of doors and possible sharp edges) in the room with him and his own toys so the first time away from home seems very familiar. Housetraining is kept up as puppies have a nature break every two hours from 8 AM to 10 PM. Puppies are also monitored during quiet times in the B&B for indications of restlessness indicating the need for yet another nature call...
